Disabilities, Opportunities, Internetworking, and Technology (DO-IT) Center

Disabilities, Opportunities, Internetworking, and Technology.

People with disabilities are not as successful as others in college and careers, including those related to science, technology, engineering and mathematics. The DO-IT Center serves to correct this situation by working directly with students with disabilities, other allies, and other stakeholders that include parents, K-12 teachers, postsecondary faculty and administrators, and employers. DO-IT pays particular attention to transitions from high school to college to careers. Funded primarily with grants from the National Science Foundation, the U. S. Department of Education, and other sources, beginning in 1992 the DO-IT Center has hosted programs and projects that promote the inclusion and success for people with disabilities, particularly in STEM fields.
